I have several tanned sheepskins to choose from. Here are 3 of them. All are dark wool, browns to black. It's difficult to get a good match on color in the photos. Imagine a black sheep. They gray as they age, just like most people. These are from Fall lambs or yearlings, so they have never been shorn. In an effort to utilize all of the sheep, these are fleshed here and then salted to dry. Once they have dried they are shipped off to a couple of tanneries.
They measure about 45" x 25". Those measurements are from the back, tanned side. The wool extends out beyond those measurements.
